It's A Conspiracy

Both the boys bring home books at night that they read, & then they take a computer quiz the next day. I've talked about it before. Sterling just started it last week, even though Jhett didn't start it until 1st grade. I guess that is the difference in public vs. private school. When I pick them up, I always ask them how their day was, &, what they learned, what they made on their tests, etc. The rule is on the reading quizzes they can't make below an 80%. If they do, they are grounded. If it happens again, they get a whipping plus being grounded. So yesterday, both of them made a 60!!! And neither one of them brought books home to read at night. Boy, I was hot! We got home, they did their homework & then was sent to their rooms until supper. They ate, took baths & were sent back to their rooms. Sterling fell asleep so quickly that he was up at 5:00 this morning, sitting at the table waiting on his breakfast. Fortunately, Meana got up to potty, or who knows how long the little fellow would have sat there waiting! I hope they got the message that bad grades are not acceptable in our home. Only the best will do.

Sentences from yesterday:

Jhett : Mom is very cogent when she yells at me. (1 point)

Sterling : J.T. is very cogent when he talks about me going to his birthday party. (1 point)

Meana: Hilter was a very congent speaker. (1 point)

Mom: In order to be a successful salesperson, you must be very cogent when talking to clients. (1 point)

The word for today is doula \DOO-luh\, noun:
A woman who assists during childbirth labor and provides
support to the mother, her child and the family after
childbirth.
